Ceremony

for

Uncertain Times

Ceremony for Uncertain Times started during Covid, where uncertainty ran ravaged our minds and bodies, and so did lounge wear. Yet, the book remains relevant today, as uncertainty in all areas of life continues to escalate.

The book is a collection of twenty-two acrylic and ink drawings, as well as a whimsical, yet grounded, guided meditation. It measures 6" x 9", and has 52 soft and glossy pages.

Ceremony for Uncertain Times is an offering of calm; these days are intense, to say the least, and they can knock us out of our center. The meditation is simple, yet deep, and full of things that we can exercise healthy control over in our lives. Each image has the medicinal qualities of the animal depicted, and also a text prompt that adds a layer of depth and some direction to the meditation. The pages take you through three realms of existence - Underworld, Earthly, and Spirit Realm, and ask us to Mary Kondo our closets in each. Not always an easy task, but the results leave us feeling lighter, calmer, and more stable in our center.

Thanks to the Columbia Basin Trust and the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance for their generous support in funding the book's creation and original printing.
